Scopes Trial 83rd Anniversary

July 21 is a historic day in America’s history, the beginning of the Scopes evolution trial that brought evolution theory to the forefront of our county’s education system, despite the fact that Scopes was convicted and fined. He lost but evolutionary thinking was the winner of the day.

Consider these facts:

1. John Scopes never taught evolution in a classroom.

2. Scopes didn’t know enough about evolution theory to be able to testify on the stand.

3. Clarence Darrow was not the ACLU’s first choice for defense attorney.

4. Creationist Williams Jennings Bryan was well versed in the theory of evolution and belonged to a major scientific organization.

5. Scopes coached three students to testify against him.

In honor of this anniversary, I’m making my historical mystery Reaping the Whirlwind available for free download as a ebook at this link. This is the book that won the Christy Award.

Have a great day!

Internet Marketing–How I got started

Last year at just this time, a friend send me a letter telling me about a
class that was coming up in a few days. It’s about using the Internet to
promote products–books, tapes, whatever–whether you are a published
author or not. I went over and signed up.

That one class really blew me away. It was about the hundreds of
opportunities open to us because of new technology and new ideas about
using the Internet for direct sales–to my readers.

Well, that class is coming up again. It’s with Internet Marketing Master
Alex Mandossian, and you can learn more about it here:
http://peek.snipurl.com/vbts He gives out a study guide and then teaches
even more than is on the guide. You’ll need extra note paper for sure.

Great to be back to work

It’s great to be back after 2 months off, first because of the cast and then convincing my hand and wrist to work again. Breaking my wrist rates right up there with major surgery in my book. I guess because it was my dominant hand, it was much worse.

Because I couldn’t type, I’ve finally gotten into some audio projects… and I bought Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.5 (which I LOVE).

My desk is piled high and so is my laundry room. Sorry, I couldn’t email everyone individually.

Blessings!

Broken Wrist

cast.jpgLast weekend I fell and broke my right wrist. Losing the use of my right hand has long since been one of my worst nightmares, since I developed carpal tunnel syndrome about 10 yrs ago. My leftie typing is improving but I promise I won’t be zipping off any epic novels any time soon. At least teleseminars don’t require anything but a phone and a voice. We are still going ahead with Terry Whalin and his tips about book proposals next Wed March 26. His signup site is TerryWhalinInFocus.com.

I do need your prayers over the next 5 weeks. With only one hand there are so many limitations that spell total frustration like doing my hair, opening any kind of bottle, putting on socks, and almost every aspect of housework. I’m so thankful for my perpetually patient husband.

Have a great Easter weekend!
